Kiwi-born industrial design creative at Teague, Seattle, with a passion for designing products & experiences that put people first.

As an Industrial Designer I carry a diverse background and a personality enriched with the curiosity to explore and a mindset to create. My global educational background has seen me study in New Zealand, California, and graduate my Masters of fine arts from the Umeå Institute of Design in Sweden.

After 6 years of serving as Teague’s Industrial Design Creative Director responsible for the downtown industrial design department, I felt disconnected from my core craft, and have recently returned back to the tools to serve as a Principle Industrial Designer. Prior to Teague, I have had a global design presence throughout Oceania, Europe, North America, and Asia. My professional career began as a co founder of the New Zealand design consultancy Design Initiative. This followed by absorbing myself in the Scandinavian simplicity in pursuit of a MFA and then working at Atlas Copco in Sweden followed by Designit in Denmark. This culture of simplicity has then been complimented with an accent of the Silicon Valley where I worked for Lunar Design in San Francisco. Since leaving Lunar in 2011, I had a strong affiliation with the Scandinavian forest industry as a consultant, and then focused on consumer electronics and white-ware while working in Munich at Teague. After additional freelance work for various studios I took a leap into business consultancy landscape in San Fransisco with McKinsey & Company. After two years, Teague reached out to return and head up their industrial design department.

My background outside of design was in the construction industry where I worked in the fields of building, plumbing, electrical and painting in which I’m currently putting to practice with the full renovations of the house-boat my wife and I live on full-time in Seattle. My aspirations are to pursue all avenues of design, in an attempt to become a culturally experienced and well rounded designer.
